busy bee...

stoked for the weekend, having a bachelor party for my bud ants up in big bear, leave fri and get back sometime sunday. totally stoked for him getting married and yet at the same time i think, wow, time flies and i cant believe he is getting married. his wedding is nov. 1st down in SD at PLNU. im the best man which means im giving the "speech". i have been preparing mentally for the challenge and am honored that ant's asked me to do that for him.

today going to the gym after work, then going to go over some work i need to finish for work (redundant no?). then read for a while and prepare for my teaching next week for my high school grp. going to continue laying a foundation for spiritual gifts, most likely try and tackle questions like, who/what is the holy spirit? why is the spirit important? what role does the spirit play in our lives and what role did he play in the lives of the OT and NT apostles/prophets?

i also just signed up for the essentials course which im totally stoked to do. it is 15 weeks and is 3 separate course each 5 weeks, the essentials red, blue and green courses. "You’ll study the arts of worship theology, history, creativity, spiritual formation and leadership with internationally respected worship leader Dan Wilt, M.Min., with media from N.T. Wright, Robert Webber, Matt Redman, Brian Doerksen and others. Via books like Simply Christian, Ancient-Future Time and Essentials In Worship..."

sore legs n teaching...

started back at the gym this week, which has been good, but im all sore, i dig it though. main reason why i started back at the gym is my knee has been giving me a lot of trouble lately when trying to run and it has been extremely frustrating. so, now i am working out my legs to strengthen which will hopefully help and give me the ability to run. also, in the meantime i have been biking at the gym (giving my knee some rest) and strengthening there too.

tonight should be good, one of the youth is leading the discussion tonight

i need to finish preparing for my teaching next week on spiritual gifts. i am going to teach most likely out of 1 Corinth. 12 and Romans 12, do an over arching teaching on all gifts, whether it be the more natural (teaching, leading, service, etc...) to the more super natural (prophecy, tongues, healing, etc...). also the situational vs the constitutional gifting's.
